Sports Clubs for Seniors in Mesa, AZ

By Marius Butas, 9:00 am on

Many seniors are still capable of playing sports and benefit from the physical stimulation. To keep your loved one active, providers of home care in Mesa recommend the following three local sports clubs.

Senior Softball

The City of Mesa Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities Department welcomes senior citizens in the local area to play softball on a league during the winter season. Five different divisions are available on various types of teams, which includes both competitive teams and teams that play the game just for fun. Male players must be at least 50 years of age and women must be at least 45 years old to join. Each team plays 14 games during the season on Tuesdays and Thursdays during the daytime.

Brunswick Zone Mesa Lanes

Seniors can join an organized bowling league at Brunswick Zone Mesa Lanes where themed leagues are available to get to know other players and feel at home in a friendly environment. They can improve their balance and stamina while taking advantage of various benefits through the establishment. By joining the league, seniors will receive two free games each week, obtain food and drink discounts, and even get special discounts on Brunswick Zone parties. Guests even get the chance to get a strike on 40 lanes or even purchase products to improve their game at the on-site pro shop.

Saturday Golf League

This co-ed club is located in the Phoenix metro area where weekly golf tournaments are held for those who have a passion for spending time out on the course. The league is a member of the Arizona Women’s Golf Association and the Arizona Golf Association where prizes are awarded to those who are advanced with their skill level. Seniors who join the league can also apply for a USGA/GHIN handicap through the league. They can also improve their game for the chance to win prize money and socialize with other golf enthusiasts in a competitive environment that will offer both mental and physical stimulation each time they step foot on the course.
